Will The Women Steal This Year’s Wrestlemania Event?
The road to #Wrestlemania. That time of year where WWE creative try to make every storyline have its climax at the sports entertainment event of the year. Careers can be made — and killed — all in the span of an evening.
This year’s card is already starting to fill up, but there are some superstars I’m rather invested in right now: Charlotte Flair, Ronda Rousey, and Becky Lynch.
As of right now though, Lynch is “suspended” and “won’t be competing” for the RAW Women’s Championship, but if I was a betting woman I’d say she’ll absolutely be there. I’m mostly indifferent to Flair being in the match as well, and it does help with the ongoing rift between #CharlotteFlair and #BeckyLynch. It’s honestly a more interesting angle than their beef with Rousey — who try as she might — is still awkward with the mic.
I would love to see #RondaRousey drop the title to Lynch, which would effectively put her on RAW. From there, I personally would love to see Lynch continue her impromptu storyline with #NiaJax. I know that’s probably an unpopular opinion, but face it. We’d all like to see Lynch go after Jax for breaking her face. Jax would absolutely play along, as she is an excellent heel. Their individual social media presence would play along well with that potential storyline too.
But then we’re left with Flair, and I don’t want to see her go home without a win. But a loss would add fuel to her fire. And a loss for Rousey could develop her otherwise flat character into an interesting direction. Hopefully creative doesn’t drop the ball with this, and we — “the authority” — get some kind of satisfaction from it all.
