Is The WWE Attitude Era Making a Comeback?
Many think so. In recent episodes of RAW and SmackDown, there have been segments, both ‘backstage’ and in the ring that are making many think the answer is “YES”.
In the past few weeks, there has been multiple segments on #MandyRose and her efforts to break up Jimmy Uso and Naomi, there was a segment with a naked from the waist up #AlexaBliss (with only her breasts being covered.) and now it seems that WWE is bringing back intergender wrestling.
[On a side note, haven’t you noticed an increase in ‘Wardrobe Malfunctions’??]
#TripleH recently answered questions at a Royal Rumble Axxess Q & A and one of the questions was whether or not WWE will integrate intergender matches into their programming, his response being, “Never say never.”
Of course Triple H, ‘HBK’ Shawn Michaels and Chyna were the driving force of intergender wrestling during the Attitude era in the late 1990’s.
The big question on every hardcore fans mind is simply this:
Can WWE incorporate the old with the new?
WWE’s attitude era was known for pushing the limits and boundaries of television.
No matter if you are talking about #VinceMcMahon and the Spirit Squad getting poop dumped on them by DX or if you are talking about the bra and panties matches…
Can something like that make it in today’s market?
If their creative is going in this direction, and they integrate the aspects of the attitude era with the new risky, yet still PC crowd, this writer would have to give a resounding – “HELL YEAH!”
