Dean Ambrose CONFIRMED To Leave WWE
If you watched RAW last night, you were treated to a very different Dean Ambrose than we’ve seen since his return after surgery. He was somber, funny, and delivered the best line of the whole show, a show that saw Becky Lynch take Ronda Rousey out at the knees in an excellent promo. “Do you have to ask your father-in-law for permission?” came out of Dean’s mouth to Triple HHH and we all gasped.
Magic was happening on live TV.
Today we woke up to find out that magic has a shelf-life: roughly two months. Both PT Torch and PW Sheet are reporting that WWE officials have released the following statement:
‘Dean Ambrose (Jonathan Good) will not be renewing his contract with #WWE when it expires in April. We are grateful and appreciative of all that Dean has given to WWE and our fans. We wish him well and hope that one day Dean will return to WWE.’
This comes on the heels of a PW Torch news brief stating that Ambrose would be leaving the company after Wrestlemania 35. Everyone decided that the world was ending (I stayed up, I was there) while this was still a rumour, and I expect more sadness, anger, frustration, and confusion over the coming weeks.
Speculation is already running wild as fans openly debate who will sign the soon-to-be-free #DeanAmbrose and what #ReneeYoung, his wife and the first permanent female commentator on RAW, will do in the aftermath of the announcement. More as it develops.
