WWE is “All In” for Total Divas Season 8
I’ll be honest. I really like the WWE reality shows. Total Divas, Total Bellas, and my newest TV addiction–Miz and Mrs–are all watched in my house. It’s refreshing to see heels and babyfaces showing their real personalities off the scripted storylines of WWE (and, ironically, onto the scripted storylines of reality TV), and has made me a bigger fan of superstars I normally wouldn’t cheer for.
With #TotalDivas coming back to the E! Network on September 19, fans are starting to speculate as to what we’ll see this season. #AlexaBliss, who appeared in the last two seasons of the show, will be absent this season.
Paige meanwhile will be making her return to the show, after being absent during season 7. Trailers for the season began in late July, with E!/WWE using the “All In” tagline for the season, an obvious dig at the upcoming
All In PPV coming up this weekend. If it wasn’t obvious that Vince McMahon is a little jealous of the Ring of Honor/New Japan Pro Wrestling star-studded event, I think it is now.
Nikki Bella New Romance?
The trailers haven’t given us much in the way of plotlines for season 8, but from the most recent trailer it looks like we may see a new romance for #NikkiBella–which could possibly make John Cena jealous–as well as Brie suggesting Nikki move in with her.
We really haven’t been given much else in terms of what to expect this season, but I’m willing to bet at least one happily married couple will face some kind of hardship, two or more of the Divas will have some kind of conflict, and who knows. Maybe an ex or two will pop back up.
Why you should Watch
If you don’t watch the E!/WWE shows, I urge you to give it a shot. They are entertaining, especially if you’re already invested in the WWE Universe. We’ve been enjoying #Miz & Mrs a great deal, but Mike Mizanin’s reality TV history makes him a natural fit for this style of show.
Will they add anything to the overall experience of watching WWE? No, not really. The storylines from RAW/SmackDown aren’t influenced by the events of Total Divas, but WWE does an excellent job of pushing the shows. Are you “all in” for September 19th? I know I am!
