Should Samoa Joe Win The WWE Championship?
The last article I wrote like this was about Shinsuke Nakamura just before his match against AJ Styles at WrestleMania 34. The overwhelming majority of fans said they believed Nakamura wasn’t quite ready for a world title reign.
Many people said that the reason they believed Shinsuke wasn’t ready was because he wasn’t great at cutting promos.
But with our new number one contender, #SamoaJoe, this is not a problem at all.
This moment for Joe is long overdue! He of course had his opportunity at the Universal Championship last year at the Great Balls of Fire pay-per-view against the Beast, Brock Lesnar.
He was unable to capture the gold then (which in hindsight was one of the worst decisions WWE has ever made), and hasn’t been seen much in the main event scene since.
That was until last week on Smackdown Live when Samoa Joe answered the call by the WWE Champion #AJStyles and signed his name on the dotted line for a championship match at SummerSlam.
Not only did Joe lock in his name for a match on August 19th, he also locked his arms around the champ’s neck, sending a message to Styles by putting him to sleep in the centre of the ring.
Joe Is Worthy!
Samoa Joe has shown that he is every bit worthy to capture his first world title at the biggest party of the summer. His capability to cut a promo is unlike any other, and his abilities in the ring are unmatched for a man of his size. He has unfortunately suffered from on and off injuries over the past couple of years, but he appears to be back and better than ever before.
Samoa Joe and AJ Styles have history dating back to their days in #TNA. There is no doubt in my mind that these two are going to put on a slugfest at SummerSlam in what I’m expecting to be the match of the night.
Where Nakamura versus Styles failed to impress until their final meeting at #MoneyintheBank, I believe this feud between the champ and the destroyer will be entertaining the entire way through.
I’ve been excited for this feud to happen ever since Joe was moved to #SmackdownLive in the Superstar Shake Up back in April. It’s always exciting when we get to watch two of the best sports entertainers go head-to-head, especially when it’s on a stage the size of SummerSlam.
Should Samoa Joe win the WWE Championship on August 19th? Absolutely!
The man would make for an unreal heel champion, one that we have seriously been waiting a long time for.
As I’ve said in my other articles, I’m always willing to see where WWE creative takes a storyline before I criticize it, but I would be lying if I said I didn’t want Joe to win the #WWEChampionship in a couple of weeks.
