Is Becky Lynch On Her Way To Becoming The Queen Slayer?
SummerSlam has come and gone, and we’re all reeling from last nights show.
Going in I had a feeling #Carmella wouldn’t retain the title, and I had a feeling WWE was going to give it back to Flair. And sure enough, I was right.
After the match, Lynch and Flair hugged it out. We could see Flair whispering something in Lynch’s ear (most likely how Lynch could take down Flair real quick) and then Lynch attacked. It was by far and large justified–fans have watched Lynch perform her heart out again and again, but she always fall short to Flair.
It became stale watching her in the Queen’s shadow, and I for one am ready for Lynch to become a Queen Slayer.
Setting Up The Rivalry
WWE is obviously setting up a much deserved rivalry between the two, that will most likely be the main event at the Evolution PPV. But if #WWE writes this correct and keeps the momentum going, they could stretch this out until next year’s Wrestlemania.
Having Lynch win the title on the grandest stage of them all would absolutely feel good, and it would knock Flair’s character down a peg or two.
Plus, I’m not really over Flair taking down #Asuka so quickly, and it would show that WWE doesn’t just hand everything to the Flair’s, which it honestly feels like they do.
Do I think this will turn Lynch heel?
No, not at all. Flair could come out and act like a victim, which would get the audience to turn on her since everyone is probably convinced Lynch should have won last night. Lynch is too over for the crowd to ever boo her, and this will hopefully push her in the right, creative direction.
