Brock Lesnar: A Sedated Championship
As of August 18, 2018 (The night before #Summerslam) Brock Lesnar will have had the Universal title for 503 days.
Can this really be considered a ‘Title Reign’ ?
#BrockLesnar won the strap from Goldberg on April 2, 2017 at WrestleMania 33
Since then he has had only 10 title defenses.
Now, I am going to make this article a little personal to get my point across.
I have Epilepsy. Epilepsy is a seizure disorder and is controlled with medication.
Epilepsy would be just being in the WWE or being a wrestler.
The seizures would be defending the title.
The medication would be the actual Championship.
Stay with me…
If I don’t have a seizure for a certain amount of time, they take me off of my meds. Even though I am still considered to be Epileptic, just not an ‘Active Epileptic’.
Since he hasn’t defended his title, they should have taken it away from him.
He hasn’t had a ‘Seizure’ so, you take him off his ‘Meds’, even though he is still ‘Epileptic’ – he is just not an active Epileptic.
Let that sink in.
If Roman Reigns Wins At SummerSlam
There, now that I got that point across, let’s talk about what would happen if Roman wins this Sunday at Summerslam.
Will they turn Roman Heel or keep him Babyface?
This is not only an important question about the title, but, for his character.
He has enjoyed medium success as a Babyface, but, now that Ambrose is back in the picture that means they can go back (and most likely WILL go back) to their 2 out of 3 formula.
By that I mean this; for the past couple of years they have used this formula:
Since The SHIELD is no longer ‘together’, 2 out of the 3 members are usually one way or another. That is to say 2 out of 3 are either Babyface or Heel.
So, since Dean Ambrose has returned, he and Rollins are clearly (acting) Babyface, so, will they make Roman a Heel just on that 2 out of 3 formula?
Will WWE creative finally understand that even though they ARE #TheSHIELD, they are separate performers?
We will see.
