The WWE Universe was very excited to see the recent return of Kane last week on Smackdown Live. The main reason everyone was so excited was because the Big Red Machine returned to help save #DanielBryan from a vicious attack by the #BludgeonBrothers.
In case you’re unaware, Bryan and Kane have an interesting history together, once tag team champions under the name “Team Hell No”. But is this return from #Kane a sign of more to come, or simply a brief stint?
We’ve seen Kane here and there the past couple of years when it comes to appearances in WWE. This is mainly because he was recently elected Mayor of Know County, Tennessee. To my surprise, #SmackdownLive General Manager Paige made the announcement last week that Kane and Daniel Bryan would be having a match for the Smackdown Tag Team Championships at #ExtremeRules.
Could They Actually Win The Tag-Team Belts?
As exciting as this news was, it’s hard to see Kane and Bryan winning the belts, or at least holding onto them for a solid amount of time. I don’t know what sort of arrangement Kane has with WWE and Knox County, but it is sort of weird to see him in this spotlight when he seemingly has important duties elsewhere.
Then again, I don’t really have a grasp on how politics work behind the scenes. Arnold Schwarzenegger was the Governor of California and he was up to all sorts of movies and what not during his time in office. I would love to see Kane stick around for a while now and put on fun stories with Bryan.
Team Hell No has wasted no time bringing back the fun and laughter they were so good at bringing 5 years ago. This past week on Smackdown Live, we had a fun trip down memory lane as Kane and Bryan exchanged ‘YES’ and ‘NO’ in the centre of the ring while disagreeing about Kane always having Daniel’s back.
As fun as this reunion has been thus far, I don’t think it will be here for the long run. I think it will be a decent match at Extreme Rules, but I unfortunately don’t see Team Hell No beating the Bludgeon Brothers to become the new Tag Team Champs.
Either Way Team Hell No will Be Fun To Watch
I’m very open to being proven wrong, as I think a title run, even if brief, for #TeamHellNo would be lots of fun to watch. I want to hear the two exchange “I’m the tag team champions,” one more time!
However, if they do become the new champs on July 15th, I don’t think it will be a long run. I think the duo is an entertaining idea to bring back for a bit, but Kane has other things to do outside WWE and Daniel Bryan needs to start working his way back into the main event scene.
Regardless of the outcome, any time WWE successfully puts a smile on my face, I’m always on board. As long as they don’t bury Daniel Bryan, this was a great idea to bring back to Smackdown!
