“You don’t live ‘til you’re ready to die!” When the closing theme for #WelcometotheMultiverse played over the standard Youtube-style endscreen, I was giggling. WTTM is a new webseries by Allie and Rosemary, the two ladies currently carrying Impact Wrestling’s Knockouts division (y’all in here talkin’ Tara and Su Yung but you know what it is), and the duo is making the most of Rosemary’s injury leave time. The show’s premise is that the Shadow has finally spoken to someone other than Rosemary, and that person was Allie, the bubbly and super-cute Bunny the Demon Slayer!
#Rosemary has been fulfilling the Shadow’s orders all of this time to protect Allie, making them the shippiest ship that ever did sail, Demon x Bunny. (Hit up demonxbunny.com for merch and pretty good proof that they are both really enjoying the ride!)
I know it’s probably just lasses kicking asses together, but let me have this one little moment of queer squee. Don’t harsh my darned buzz!
Anyhow, the Shadow told Allie to teach Rosemary how to be a more convincing human. Rosemary was shocked and wanted to reject the idea, but Allie doesn’t tend to accept no for an answer. Together, they get vegan evil doughnuts at Universal Studios Orlando, find out that coffee puts Rosemary to sleep, enjoy a prank together as #Allie brought out her stake cross, and finally, they share some Swedish Fish.
The majority of the episode is the most basic exposition that someone who’s never seen them before needs, but it doesn’t detract from the overall feel of the first episode.
If it feels like I‘m writing this in my gossip-lass mode, that’s because it’s true! Where ‘Being The Elite’, the landmark 100+ episode wrestling web series starring the core group from the #BulletClub, the Elite, is a compelling drama with comic relief, I see WTTM as a feel-good (romantic) comedy. It’s a short, tasty morsel of silliness, much like the Swedish Fish Allie swam over to Rosemary’s mouth, and I for one will happily eat candy and ride the hype train!
See you next episode!
