The Champ is here…and he’s acting!
Although he seems to be in the squared circle less and less these days, he IS showing up on the big screen more and more. Truly starting his acting success in 2015’s ‘Trainwreck’ where people were surprised at his not only acting abilities, but, his comedy chops as well. He then went on to co-star with the likes of Will Ferrell/Mark Wahlberg in ‘Daddy’s Home’ and ‘Daddy’s Home 2’ and in late 2017 was the voice of Ferdinand the bull in ‘Ferdinand’
As of 2018, #JohnCena already seems to have a hit on his hands with his animated project, ‘Dallas & Robo’
Apparently, Sylvester Stallone was all set to co-star with action legend Jackie Chan, but, due to circumstances unknown, he dropped out of the project and Cena is now set to replace him.
The movie is called, ‘EX-BAGHDAD’ and is set to start filming this summer with a $80-million-dollar budget. The plot of ‘Ex-Baghdad’ centers on a Chinese-run oil refinery located in the middle east.
It gets overtaken by a group of baddies who want all the fortune and glory and care nothing about who has to die so they can get rich. The refinery owners then hire Jackie Luo (Jackie Chan) who owns a private security firm called the Snow Leopard Unit to go in and save the workers and the refinery if they can.
Luo then contacts ex-Marine Chris Saatchi (Cena) to help him save the workers, save the refinery and kill the bad guys. The ex-Marine, Saatchi was the role that was attached to Stallone, why he is no longer in the project has yet to be released. As much as Cena’s haters will hate to admit, it WILL be something to see him and Chan together.
‘EX-BAGHDAD’ is set for release sometime in later 2019.
