The Superstar Shake up has been a fun way to keep the WWE Universe, and if we want to talk kayfabe, the WWE superstars on their toes. It’s a fun event that does exactly what the name says: shakes up the superstars between Raw and Smackdown Live. With WrestleMania behind us, the Superstar Shake Up indicates basically the start of a new season. So let’s see if we can predict who might end up where.
Finn Bálor to Smackdown: I would say the majority of fans have wanted to see Finn Bálor reclaim to seat at the throne we all know he deserves. Since his unfortunate injury back on SummerSlam in 2016, Bálor hasn’t really done much. And now with Reigns firmly still in the drivers seat for the Universal Title feud, Bálor’s best option would be to move to Tuesday nights. Then we could see Bálor versus either AJ Styles or Shinsuke Nakamura for the WWE Championship! I want it now!
Daniel Bryan to Raw: It was announced on Smackdown Live this past week that Daniel Bryan will be returning to full time status. We then immediately got to see an incredible match between Bryan and Styles. The only reason I think we got this match right away is because Bryan will be moving to Raw come Monday night. This way, we can get the Miz versus Bryan, a feud that is going to blow the roof off this place. Maybe Bryan can also be the one to beat Reigns or Lesnar for the Universal Title… I’ll just leave that there!
Bayley AND Sasha Banks to Smackdown: This wouldn’t be the first time two former best friends, now bitter rivals move together during the Shake Up. We saw it with Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn during last year’s swap and it has worked wonders for the pair. I think with Nia Jax as the Raw Women’s Champion now, it would make the most sense for Bayley and Banks to feud over the Smackdown Women’s Championship. Plus, these two have never been on Smackdown since the brand split.
The New Day to Raw: The New Day have thrived over on Smackdown Live during their incredible feud with the Usos. But I think with the Bludgeon Brothers now at the forefront of the Smackdown Live Tag Team Division, I think it’s time to mix things up. I’m just imagining all the cool, fun new feuds we would get to see the New Day in, like Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt (I called that team by the way), the Revival, or even The Bar. This is the big tag team I see making the brand jump during the Shake Up.
Obviously there will be more brand swaps than what I’ve attempted to predict, but I didn’t want to go one forever. Those are just the four I am most confident about. Plus, if you’ve read any of my other predictions articles, you’ll have noticed I am probably the worst in the entire world and predicting match outcomes, so anticipate none of what I just said to come true. Hopefully I show better results with this one.
Either way, the Shake Up should be fun as always. I wouldn’t be surprised if we see a return or two mixed in to the festivities as well. It’s the start of a brand new season folks, so start getting excited for next year’s WrestleMania!
