Saudi Sport officials have apologized after images of scantily clad women appeared on the big screens during The Greatest Royal Rumble event that allowed women and children for the first time. The video packages WWE shown in between matches featured women wrestling and dressed in their normal ring attire.
The Saudi General Sports Authority apologized in an online statement on Saturday.
Viewers overseas reported the broadcast of the Greatest Royal Rumble was cut off for a few moments as the images played.
The authority said there were shots of women who were “indecent”.
The sports authority said then that it “affirms its efforts to stop any overstepping aimed at harming society and breaching its modesty.”
