What Should We Expect From Daniel Bryan Returning?

The news that broke last Tuesday that former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan was cleared to compete once again after nearly four years of being forcefully retired due to injury was the best news for anyone involved in wrestling!

It was one of those moments that every single person wanted to have happen, but never truly believed it would, until it actually did. Now with Daniel Bryan confirming he will be returning to in-ring action at WrestleMania 34 in less than two weeks, what should fans, or even WWE expect from the flying goat?

We saw a brief taste of the high energy and intensity that Daniel Bryan brings to the ring when he was fending off an attack from Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn on last week’s episode of Smackdown Live. Bryan seemingly hasn’t lost his touch, nailing corner dropkick after corner dropkick in what was one of the most fun moments to watch as a fan!

However, regardless of this small burst of adrenaline, will Daniel Bryan be able to bring back the full DB experience when he steps into the ring and WrestleMania, or will there be some ring rust to get over first? Obviously, I, along with every single wrestling fan, want to see the incredible Daniel Bryan of old.

No matter how he does in his first match back after 4 years of being on the shelf, we are going to back and cheer the crap out of him.

We also need to look at this moment realistically. When you don’t do something for 4 years, especially something as physical as professional wrestling, you’re more than likely going to be a few steps back from where you were all that time ago. Will Daniel Bryan experience some issues come April 8th? Maybe. But will that have any negative impact on his momentum going forward? Absolutely not!

I had a discussion with a good friend of mine a few weeks ago about who we thought was the most ‘over’ superstar on the roster. Names like Seth Rollins and AJ Styles were clear favorites, but after last Tuesday’s announcement, Rollins and Styles can step aside, because there is no one, possibly ever or even in the future, that is more ‘over’ than Daniel Bryan.

His story is one of the most unbelievable and admirable of all time. The fight that this man has put up, after everything that he has gone through, is unmatched.

So what should we expect from Daniel Bryan moving forward? Greatness! No matter how his match and Mania goes, the fact that Daniel Bryan has been cleared to compete after everything that has happened is absolutely remarkable.

It’s going to be so much fun for fans and wrestlers alike to be able to rekindle what we have all been wanting for such a longtime. And as excited as we all are, no one is happier about this than the man himself, Daniel Bryan
