It looks like WWE finally caved into the pressure of having the “Fabulous Moolah” Memorial Battle Royal be the official name for the match at Wrestlemania.
WWE was receiving a growing backlash from media and fans over the name. World Wrestling Entertainment has now decided to call it “Wrestlemania Women’s Battle Royal.”
WWE released the following statement regarding the name switch:
“After further consideration, we believe it’s best to proceed with the name ‘WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal.’ What remains most important is that this historic match is part of WWE’s unwavering commitment to the Women’s Division.”
