Even if Monday Night Raw General Manager Kurt Angle can’t quite remember what’s happening in a week and a half at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view event, it doesn’t take away from the excitement of now two first time ever circumstances.
Of course there’s the first ever women’s elimination chamber match, announced after a successful first ever all women’s royal rumble match. But added to the Chamber card this past week after a rather controversial finish to Raw is the first ever seven-man elimination chamber match!
In my opinion, the women’s chamber match seems a little lacking. Superstars like Mickey James, Mandy Rose, and Sonya Deville just don’t feel like they have that same charisma as the other three women. I don’t want to judge a book by its cover, as I’m sure this match is going to be great regardless. It still confuses my, however, that Nia Jax isn’t in this match.
Why not save the mystery of “can Nia really beat Asuka” for WrestleMania? Aside from this confusion, I genuinely have an interest to see how this match plays out. I hope they all put their bodies on the line out there and put on one hell of a match.
Making the Men’s Elimination Chamber match include seven men instead of the usual six was a decision that fans have really seemed to enjoy. I think it’s pretty clear that they’re setting up a Rollins vs. Bálor feud for WrestleMania, which would be awesome!
These two put on an outstanding match at Summerslam a couple of years ago and the WWE Universe would be over the moon to see these two go at it again, this time on the grandest stage of them all. It will be fun to see how their feud may arise from inside the chamber. Maybe a little heel turn?
My guess is that with seven men instead of six, that there will be three men in the ring to start the match. That’s my educated guess, however it’s not what I want to see, so bare with me for a second. Picture this: They build a fifth superstar pod that dangles above the ring, similar to the shark tank. This, of course, will be the pod that Braun Strowman lurks in.
Once he is chosen to enter the match, he has to smash the pod open, and fly like an eagle down to the ring, crushing anyone and everyone underneath him, where he will promptly give each person in the ring “these hands”… at least that’s what I want to see.
Elimination Chamber is shaping up to be a fun night of wrestling. And the best part about the Chamber is that anything can happen, but I’ll save that for my predictions article in just over a week.
I don’t really know what other matches are on the card as of now, but truly, the only ones that matter are the elimination chamber matches. It’s going to be a wild time, and history will certainly be made!
