First off, I’d like to apologize to the readers for being gone for awhile, but I promise to start my Raw Reactions again this upcoming week and have more of a presence on here.

I woke up this morning and read an article by a Wrestlezone.com writer who made the statement of Heels (bad guys) don’t exist in WWE anymore, due to Vince’s perception of good/bad guys being no more. He cited characters like Brock Lesnar, Bray Wyatt and AJ Lee for examples, and to be frank, he’s exactly right.

I’m a Lesnar fan and have always been a fan of his work in and out of WWE, but I recall a time where Lesnar didn’t get cheered and was a true born heel, who torn through the WWE with force and ease.

Bray Wyatt came on the scene and he immediately made noise. However, for those who saw him in NXT, like myself, they already knew what a marvelous character he was and enjoyed seeing him on the main roster, so he could do no wrong.

AJ Lee has always gotten a mixed reaction, but as time went on and she showed how great of a female wrestler she truly is, the WWE Universe cheered her more, even with Tamina playing her part as a female Diesel. Now she gets cheers and reactions for her work, but mostly because she’s now the wife of CM Punk. Might as well rename her to AJ Punk and take advantage of the “CM” chants. Plus it kind of has a ring, no pun intended, to it.

Really the only true heels in WWE right now are Rusev, The Miz and The Authority. Rusev though is booed because of the obligatory my country is better than the USA storyline, which has been done a million times, but it works. The Miz is another, because of his recent character change to the “A-list” Hollywood actor persona.
I hope this reinvigorates Miz, because truthfully he’s a great character and has good in-ring abilities and has been wasted greatly over the last 2 years. This guy hasn’t seen the main event spotlight since WM 27 and that too is a shame. The Authority is The Corporation reborn, but is true to form heels, simply because they have the power, they know it and they abuse it.

Unfortunately, the days of faces and heels is vanishing in WWE, and that’s what it needs. The fan base needs people to love and hate. TNA has that concept with guys like Ethan Carter III (formerly Derrick Bateman in WWE), James Storm and the faction of MVP, Kenny King and Bobby Lashley.

Maybe WWE should take some notes from TNA, not likely, but they should. If you want people to boo Bo Dallas, then either take away the things he’s doing that get people to cheer him or turn him face. If you want the Wyatts to be booed have them attack someone straight laced and cut dark promos like they did against Cena. Well, maybe that was a bad example, because when you face John Cena your automatically going to get some cheers. The point I’m trying to make is the same as the wrestlezone writer’s. Bring back the days of face and heels. It makes the product better and gets the Universe more involved.
